Don't you worry, this tramp's a lady

Lace Blazer - Suzy Shier
Blouse - Stitches
High Waist Jeans - Thrifted
Black Pumps - Steve Madden
'Wine Stain' Nail Varnish - Forever 21

I wanted to put together an outfit which would be while fairly casual while also having a dressy edge. I decided to wear my sheer white blouse with my old lace blazer and paired them with jeans to make the outfit more casual. And, of course, I finished off the outfit with my favourite heels!

Candy Cane Cupcakes

I 've alwayed loved baking, ever since I was a little girl and would help my mum bake sugar cookies at Christmas. However, I tend to usually stick to simple cookies and muffins which I can toss together with wild abandon and have ready to eat within 45 minutes. With that said, earlier this week I decided to try something a bit different! I made a batch of vanilla cupcakes (recipe below) and decorated them in a Christmassy fashion. They were completely easy to make and decorate, and they turned out quite good -- in terms of appearance and taste!

For decorating, I'd originally thought of placing a mini candy cane on top of each cupcake, but unfortunately wasn't able to find any mini ones. Still, I was quite pleased with how they ended up looking and they tasted as good as they looked! Decorating them was completely simple -- I iced them with plenty of icing, crushed some candy canes and sprinkled them on the cupcakes along with some red coloured sugar and voila!

I usually bake sugar cookies and ginger bread cookies at Christmas, but since making these, I've been feeling inspired to try some other cupcake recipes. Aren't some of those amazing looking?! The snowmen ones are too cute!

I hadn't made cupcakes for ages, moreover I'd never made cupcakes from scratch. I found this little 'How To Make Cupcakes' video quite helpful. I love video tutorials for baking and cooking -- they always help a novice like myself to learn little tips and tricks. I'm also planning on trying some other Christmas baking recipes -- this is one of my favourite times of the year to do baking and I'm feeling inspired to give some new recipes a go!

The above recipe was from this lovely recipe book, Home Bake by Eric Lanlard.

I'm dying to find a reason to try the recipe for the cake on the cover -- it looks so delish. Sponge cake + fresh berries + icing = heaven.

And this is the recipe for the cupcakes above!

Review - MAC Lipstick in Diva

Dark lips are one of my favourite beauty trends right now. Dark burgundy, dark purple, and wine shades are everywhere right now and I was eager to give the look a try! I typically stick to reds and corals, so this very dark shade was a bit daunting for me, but once I applied it I loved it.

After many failed attempts at wearing dark lipstick when I was younger, I was ready to give it another go. I debated whether to buy MAC's Media or Diva shade and settled on Diva. Media is quite purple, whilst Diva is burgundy with a slightly purplish tone. I, personally, find purple lipsticks quite difficult to carry off, so Diva was the obvious choice for me.

Despite its matte finish, it isn't drying and it is an amazingly intense colour. I love pairing it with simple eye makeup and dark eye makeup alike, it really just depends on what sort of looking you're going for. Dark lips always feel so mysterious and glamourous.

One of my favourite ways to wear dark lipstick is with a simple eye. I contour my eyes slightly with a matte beige eyeshadow and apply mascara for a pretty, eveyday look. My other favourite way of wearing dark lips is to pair them with dark eyemakeup for a bold, vampy look. Even though dark lipstick can seem daunting, it can be surprisingly versatile in terms of different looks you can achieve.

What's your favourite beauty trend this season?

Cherry Wine

Having not done an outfit post in what feels like ages, I figured that I would try to get back into the habit of doing them more often. I happened to like what I wore the day before yesterday and decided I'd snap a few outfit photos.

I wanted to base an outfit around this neat little cardigan that was given to me as a gift a couple of years ago. As it's quite dressy, with plastic rhinestones decorating it, I decided I would pair it with jeans to dress it down a touch. I wore a delicate, slightly sheer thrifted button down shirt underneath. For an unconventional touch, I wore my new Aldo chunky heels, which I bought for super cheap last month!

My lipstick is I Love That Red by Revlon and my nail varnish is my favourite red, OPI Red by OPI.

On a side note, can you believe it's December already?! I can't believe we're as close to Xmas and New Years as we are
